IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maurice
Neiman
March 13, 1930 – August 11, 2025
Maurice Phillip Neiman, who was called Maury by those close to him, was born on March 13th, 1930 and passed away peacefully on August 11th, 2025 at the age of 95.
Maurice had an extraordinary work ethic and many accomplishments throughout his life. After acquiring a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, he obtained his Juris Doctor law degree from Case Western Reserve School of Law. Maurice got his real estate license while in college, and worked as a real estate agent part-time while continuing his education. After graduating college and earning his degrees at a younger age than most, Maurice passed the bar exam and started practicing law at the young age of 23. He quickly opened his own law firm and became a prominent real estate attorney in his hometown of Akron, Ohio. For many years, he proudly owned and personally managed a large portfolio of investment properties. After decades of dedication to the real estate industry, Maurice retired at the remarkable age of 90.
Maurice had many interests and hobbies, including attending antique car shows, collecting trains, bargain hunting, listening to music, traveling the country with his late wife Lillian, and going to county fairs each summer with his grandchildren. He was an avid storyteller, who enjoyed telling his grandchildren all about his adventures and life experiences, often over "Boston coolers," his favorite treat. He had a heart of gold, a great sense of humor, and was quick to offer a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian Neiman; father, William Neiman; mother, Anna Neiman; brother, Harold Neiman; and sister, Sylvia Posner. He is survived by his brother Jacob (Harriet); sisters Arlene Penner and Libby Lawrence; sons, Robert (Peggy) and Larry (Susie); beloved grandchildren: Keith, Julie (Jonathan), Adam, Aimee, and Nicole; great-grandchildren Hannah and Benjamin, and "special helper" Van Redding. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.
