Mary Ann Minster passed away on September 21, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Mary Ann was born in Akron on November 14, 1926 to Ada and Ralph Marks. She was married to her devoted husband Stan for 72 years. Mary Ann was the dedicated mother of Debbie (Richard) Zelin, Shelley (David) Koch and Rob (Andrea) Minster. She was the proud Grandma of nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren who would brightened her day with every visit. She also leaves behind her sister, Judy Friedman, and sister-in-law, Leona Pollock. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex and Sam Marks.
Mary Ann graduated from the University of Akron and was a special education tutor for many years. She later worked at the family business, Belenky, Inc. She led by example with her community involvement, following her mother as an active member of Pioneer Women (Na'Amat), volunteered at the Jewish Community Center, delivered Mobile Meals and had many other community roles. Mary Ann loved to play golf, mahj, bridge and enjoyed any activity spent with her friends and family. She remained close to their families and was always there for anyone. She will be missed by many but forgotten by no one.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 24 at 11 am at Beth El Congregation, 750 White Pond Drive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shaw JCC, Mobile Meals or your favorite charity.
