Obituary

Martin Allen Levin, Age 86 of Akron, Ohio passed away on February 8th at 12:15 am surrounded by loving family in his home. Martin was born on April 15, 1938, in Akron, Ohio, the son of Joseph and Marie Frost Levin. Martin graduated from Buchtel High School in 1956, then went on to the Ohio State University, to earn a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1960. Martin was a member of Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. Martin married Joyce Katherine Backer on July 3, 1960, at Temple Israel in Akron. They shared 64 wonderful years together. Martin succeeded his father as CEO of Martin Wheel Company, leading the business successfully from his college graduation until 1984. After retiring from his first career, he successfully ran MRT Properties with his son, Jim for two decades. His greatest passion was providing for and supporting his family. In his free time, Martin loved riding his bike. He cherished waterskiing with his sons or boating with loved ones on Portage Lakes. Martin was a devoted member of Temple Israel and will be laid to rest in the Temple Israel section of Rosehill Cemetery.

Remaining to cherish Martin's memory are spouse, Joyce Backer Levin; sister, Kathryn Unger (David Unger); sisters-in-law, Judi Dambrot and Carole Cole; children, James Levin (CeeCee Levin) and Daniel Levin (Rachel Bernstein); grandchildren, Morgan Levin, Allison Levin, Daniele Bilfield (Michael Bilfield), Claire Levin, Kylie Levin, Joanna Levin, Lily Waugh, Talie Massoli, Matthew Massoli; great-grandchildren, Carson Bilfield, Fin Massoli; among many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 10 at 3:30 pm at Temple Israel: 91 Springside Dr. Akron, OH 44333, with Rabbi Joshua Brown officiating.

Shiva will be held Monday 2/10, Tuesday 2/11, and Wednesday 2/12 6-8 pm (minyan at 7 pm) at the family home - 3571 Bay Hill Dr.

Memorial donations in Martin's memory may be directed to the Martin and Joyce Levin Audio Visual fund at Temple Israel.
