Obituary

Linda Shaw Schulman, 82, passed away peacefully August 22, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Although Linda faced many health challenges in her adult life, she overcame adversity, always with her beautiful smile.

Linda is survived by her sons, Jay (Marcy) and Lee (Diane); her beloved grandsons Andrew, Corey and Atticus; nephew Chris Friedman; extended family and friends and her long time aide and best friend, Cindy. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Melanie Shaw and sister Carol Shaw Friedman.

Linda was born and raised in Akron, Ohio and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with an art history degree. She raised her sons in Columbus, Ohio where she worked as a personal shopper for Lazarus department stores for many years. Linda also volunteered at the Columbus Museum of Art and Franklin Park Conservatory, putting her knowledge and passion for art and plants to great use. Linda was the consummate people and cat person and loved to travel, particularly New York City, enjoyed all forms of culture and fashion and memorably had her car towed from a jazz club in Columbus!

Everyone who met Linda adored her and we want to thank Cindy who was with her through thick and thin, the staff at Hudson Grande Senior Living and Traditions Health Hospice for their exceptional care and loving and unwavering support. Linda was a very charitable woman and donations in her memory can be made to the Shaw JCC Families Supporting Families Fund, Franklin Park Conservatory or the Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area Chapter. In honor of Linda, we vow to always wear the right colors for our seasons with some fun and funky jewelry, attend the concerts, kick up our legs and smile to brighten people's days.

Graveside Service will be held, Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at 11 AM at Rose Hill Burial Park, 3653 West Market St. in Fairlawn.
