Leona Pollock

Leona Pollock passed away peacefully, albeit reluctantly, just 27 days prior to her 102nd birthday. Her life was an inspiration to all, and she will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind son and daughter Roger and Kathi Marks, dear grandsons Seth (Marissa), Jordan (Jenna) and her beloved great grandson Max and great granddaughter Ayva along with many nieces, and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Rose Cohen and George Cohen. She was predeceased by her daughter Roni and former husbands Sam Marks, Marty Polsky, and Jerry Pollock and dear granddaughter Raleigh Chapman Marks.

She was born in Detroit and resided in Akron nearly her entire life. She proudly helped in the World War II war effort as “Rosie the Riveter” assisting in the production of war planes at Goodyear. She became a real estate broker in her 50’s and was the West Akron, Fairlawn “Condo Queen” helping many people find their perfect home. She had a loyal following with many clients calling on her expertise at their different life stages.

Her life serves as an example of living a life with purpose and humility. She was a legend in living.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 12 Noon at Temple Israel, 91 Springside Dr., Akron, OH 44333.

The family will be observing shiva Wednesday and Thursday 7-9 pm at Camelot Condominiums Party Room, 2475 Chatham Rd., Akron, OH 44313.

In lieu of flowers, if so desired, please make contributions in her memory to Jewish Family Service of Akron, the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, or the Cantor’s discretionary fund at Temple Israel Akron.
