Keith Mirman (1952–2026)

Keith Mirman, age 73, of Akron, Ohio, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026. Born in Akron in 1952 to Donald and Jeanette Mirman, he was the youngest of three sons. He graduated from Firestone High School and went on to earn his degree from Kent State University.

Keith began his career as an Industrial Arts teacher before founding Mirman Construction more than 40 years ago, building a respected business and forming lasting relationships throughout the country.

He was deeply devoted to his family, friends, and community. A dedicated member of Temple Israel, he served as its president twice and served as president of Stewart's Caring Place, where he was instrumental in its founding. He also played a meaningful role in helping to build the Hillel at Kent State University.

A loving husband, father and proud grandfather, he cherished time spent with his loved ones, particularly the many vacations they enjoyed together. He was also a dedicated Cleveland sports fan and longtime Browns, Cavaliers and Guardians season ticket holder.

Keith is survived by his wife Candy, his children Brett and Stacy (Daniel), and his grandchildren, Eli, Saige, Drew, Henry and Abe. He is also survived by his brother Bruce (Sheryl) and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Leslye and Steve Lapidus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jeanette Mirman, and brother Melvin Mirman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Temple Israel, 91 Springside Drive, Akron.

The family will sit shiva following the interment until 6:00 p.m. at Temple Israel, and again on Monday and Tuesday from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at 280 Lake Point Drive, Akron, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Keith’s memory may be made to the Mirman Music Fund at Temple Israel in Akron.
