IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith
Friedman
July 25, 1935 – September 8, 2025
Judith Marks Friedman, age 90, passed away on September 8, 2025.
She was the devoted wife of 64 years of David, of blessed memory, loving mother of Amy Friedman, Jill (Brad) Helfman, Bruce (Stacy) Friedman, and Ricky, of blessed memory. She was the adoring grandmother of Jared (Laynie Kirsch), Lindsey, and Justin Helfman, Ryan, Aaron, and Andrew Friedman, and cherished sister of the late Alex Marks, Sam Marks, and Mary Ann Minster. Judy was also a special aunt, great aunt, and cousin to many. She shared a special relationship with her sisters-in-law Leona Pollock and Gail Schlossberg.
Judy was born in Akron, OH to Ralph and Ada Marks and maintained lifelong friendships with many childhood friends. She received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in counseling from the University of Akron. Judy enjoyed a successful and rewarding career as a teacher, as a family therapist, and as Executive Director of Jewish Family Service. She took pride in supervising student teachers, helping to shape the future of education. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Ada Marks chapter of Na'amat USA/Pioneer Women and received the Jewish Family Service Volunteer of the Year award for her distinguished work and dedication to the Volunteer Guardian program. Judy was an avid reader, going to the library frequently to find a stack of new books to read. In her spare time, Judy played mah jongg, golf, tennis, bridge, and cheered on the Cleveland Guardians and Cavs and her beloved Michigan Wolverines, but above all else, she loved spending time with her family.
