Harriet Schneiderman

Harriet Jean (Lowy) Schneiderman, passed away on July 26, 2026. Born in Akron on May 5, 1938 and preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stan Schneiderman; parents Dave and Betty Lowy; her son Ron Schneiderman; parents-in-law, Sam and Eva Schneiderman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sol and Shirley Wagan; and sister-in-law Rolinda Schneiderman.

Harriet is survived by her sister, Shirley Lowy; son, Ken (Norma) Schneiderman; daughter-in-law Dana (Larry) Freiman and Ron and Dana's sons, Zachary and Evan Schneiderman; brother-in-law, Ted Schneiderman and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Harriet attended Crouse School, Buchtel High School, The Ohio State University and graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Education. She married Stan Schneiderman in 1959 and taught first grade. She was a life member of NA'AMAT USA and Hadassah, member of Beth El Congregation, Beth El Sisterhood, past member of Akron Bar Association Auxiliary, ORT, B'nai B'rith Women, Shaw JCC, and the Beth El Board.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, July 28 at 10 a.m. at Beth El Congregation, 750 White Pond Drive, Akron, OH 44320 with interment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Shiva will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at the home of Toby and Gary Rosen.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be welcomed to Beth El Congregation, the Sol Wagan Youth Maccabi Fund at the Shaw JCC of Akron, or to the charity of choice.
