Carol Helaine Holub-Curtis passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 4, 2023, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She was 67.
Born in Akron, Ohio, Carol was a graduate of Firestone High School and Kent State University where she earned a bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation.
She worked at YWCA Residential Intervention Center for Delinquent Girls, The Village at St. Edward's, and the Summit County Children's Home before embarking on a 30-year career as a saleswoman for Mary Kay Cosmetics.
Carol loved to cook and entertain family and friends. When she wasn't able to cook, she would spend her days watching cooking shows.
Carol is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jeff Curtis, brother Alan Holub, sisters-in-law Janice Curtis Wood and Shawn Curtis, brother-in-law Jim Curtis, nieces Stephanie Wood and Cicely Wood, and nephews Jamie Curtis and John Wood.
She is preceded in death by her father Jerome Holub and her mother Marjorie Holub.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 9, 2023, at Gordon Memorial Home, 1260 Collier Road, Akron, Ohio, 44320. A lunch will follow at Cottage Grove EC Church, 3133 Cottage Grove Road, Akron, Ohio 44319, where family asks that people come with stories to share about Carol.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the The National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
