Bernard Bear, 93, passed away January 27, 2022. He was born August 12, 1928 in Akron, Ohio to the late Sidney and Leona
Bear.

Bernie graduated from Buchtel High School and attended The Ohio State University. He was an avid transit buff. Bernie was the longest standing volunteer in the history of the Akron Metropolitan Transit Authority, serving over 40 years in many capacities, including President of the Board. He was a proud parent and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Preceded in death by his son Scott James Bear, Of Blessed Memory. Bernie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vivian, daughter Lori Bear of Minneapolis, MN and son Michael (Peg) Bear of Virginia.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
